I barely have a hold on what colonialism is, what is settler-colonialism?
Colonialism itself is a huge, complex beast. Its effects, we know, are far and wide and deep and strong. Settler-colonialism adds an extra layer to that. What is settler-colonialism? How have settler colonies such as Australia come to create their own nation-statehood by eliminating Indigenous people? How does this form of colonisation differ (if at all) from the colonial project? In other words, what happens when the invaders come and never leave?
